Arting Intuitively

These two spreads came together quickly and were such fun to do because I didn't overanalyze anything, just worked with what was around or what came handy and worked in the design. here's another one in the same book, my try out book.

Finally getting back to arting and blogging

Whew! it's been a busy couple of months with company and trips, but now I'm in full gear doing altered books in preparation for a Teen Hangout class I'm teaching. So I'm going to upload some backgrounds and my first niche in what will be a desert/home/magic theme...I just love living in the desert so I'm going to celebrate that.

From Altered Books
The niche frame is covered with cactus fabric (isn't that so cool?) and painted with golden heavy body acrylics with some iridescent ones in there. the house is a recycled pin, the moon from a piece of jewelry, the plants at the bottom are recycled shamrocks from a blinking shamrock necklace...don't ask. I didn't buy it new! anyway, on the other side is paint and a strip of recycled fabric glued on reverse side out...I love the motif it shows and when the book is closed, the lizard fits into the space between the frame and the house, under the moon and overtop of the mountain. oh yes, there's an iridescent green pindotted holed ribbon on the moon corner.
